Glenstone Museum Opening Pavilions July 23
Glenstone Museum in Potomac is scheduled to reopen the Pavilions, its indoor art spaces, at limited capacity beginning July 23. The announcement comes amid the county’s Phase 2 of reopening, which allows some indoor spaces to resume operations.
All guests are required to schedule visits in advance, remain six feet apart and wear face coverings while indoors. The museum has also installed hand sanitizing stations and will restricts groups to five people, while also staggering guests 15-minutes apart.
“Following weeks of welcoming visitors to enjoy and explore our outdoor artworks in a natural setting, we are happy to expand the Glenstone experience to include the exhibitions in the Pavilions,” said Emily Wei Rales, co-founder and director of Glenstone. “Our unique approach of providing an uncrowded and unhurried visitor experience allows Glenstone to offer a safe and socially distanced experience for lovers of art and nature.”
The reopened Pavilions space includes the 18,000-square-foot Water Court and several single-artist installations from the likes of Michael Heizer, Shirin Neshat, and Roni Horn. An installation called “Specific Notation” opened shortly before the museum closed.
We are happy to announce that we will be reopening the Pavilions at a limited capacity beginning Thursday, July 23. Tickets released 7/6 at 10 a.m. Details here: https://t.co/ZEWmz7xKGy pic.twitter.com/dqRUzNNdG7
