Germantown’s BlackRock Center for the Arts Hosts Spring Festival Sunday
UPDATE: The festival moves indoors due to the weather forecast for rain.
BlackRock Center for the Arts will hold a free festival celebrating Spring on Sunday, May 5 from 2 – 6 p.m. The outdoor festival will be held on BlackRock’s front lawn at 12901 Town Commons Drive, Germantown. In the event of rain, the festivities will be moved indoors.
The Washington Revels will lead traditional May Day Celebration with family-friendly activities. A troupe of over 100 performers will lead sing-alongs and dance, including a traditional Maypole folk dance.
In addition to the Washington Revels, performances throughout the afternoon include traditional Indian dance by Kuchipudi Dance Academy; storytelling weaved together with dance, theater and music by Story Tapestries; Irish step dance by Culkin School of Dance and bagpipe music and dance by Maryland MacMillan United Pipe Bands (Bagpipe music and dance).
Local arts and crafts and food will be available for purchase. The vendors include:

- Petunia the Clown
- Holy Crepes
- Corned Beef King
- Dogs on the Curb
In the event of rain, SpringFest will be moved indoors.
