Gaithersburg Police Investigating Burglaries, Strong-Arm Robberies
A residential burglary was reported in the 100 block of Park Avenue. Sometime between April 14 to May 17, someone entered the home and removed property. The investigation is ongoing.
A commercial burglary was reported in the 500 block of South Frederick Avenue. Someone entered a shed and removed property. The investigation is ongoing.
A residential burglary was reported in the 200 block of Olde Towne Avenue. Someone entered the home and removed property. The investigation is ongoing.
A residential burglary was reported in the 600 block of West Side Drive. Someone entered the home through the back door and removed property. The investigation is ongoing.
An attempted residential burglary was reported in the 500 block of White Surf Drive. Someone tried to enter the home through a window but was unsuccessful. Police are seeking a man, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 140 pounds with brown hair, last seen wearing a blue shirt. The investigation is ongoing.
An attempted strong-arm robbery was reported in the 400 block of Christopher Avenue. Two unknown suspects approached the victim, physically assaulted them and then fled on foot. Police seek two teenagers. One is 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, 15-17 years old with curly shoulder length hair, last seen wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans. The other is 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, 14-16 years old, last seen wearing a red or orange hoodie and denim pants. The investigation is ongoing.
An aggravated assault was reported in the 100 block of Park Avenue. A woman and the victim were involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a fight. The woman brandished a knife and stabbed the victim causing a small laceration to the arm. The woman was placed under arrest and charged.
A commercial burglary was reported at Lakeforest Mall at 701 Russell Ave. Someone entered the business but removed no property. The investigation is ongoing.
An attempted strong arm robbery was reported in the unit block of Rye Court. Someone approached the victim and tried to take a purse, but was unsuccessful. Police seek a man with light complexion, slim build, 16-20 years old, last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweat shirt. The investigation is ongoing.
An attempted burglary was reported in the 600 block of Whetstone Glen Street. Someone tried to enter the home through a door but was unsuccessful. The investigation is closed.
A commercial burglary was reported at the Cancun Cantina at 117 E. Diamond Ave. Someone entered the business and removed property. The person was later located, arrested and charged.
An attempted residential burglary was reported in the 800 block of Quince Orchard Boulevard. Someone tried to enter the unit through the front door but was unsuccessful. The investigation is closed.
