1 Night, 2 7-Elevens, Same 3 Men, Police Believe

Montgomery County police believe the same three men robbed two 7-Eleven convenience stores the same night.

Police were called to the 7-Eleven at 15821 Frederick Road about 2:30 a.m. May 17, according to the police crime summary. The robbers displayed handguns and stole cash.

Nine minutes later, another 7-Eleven was robbed at 15900 Shady Grove Road. There the robbers displayed handguns and stole cash and an employee’s property. Three suspects are sought.

Rockville:

A commercial armed robbery occurred at the 7-Eleven at 15821 Frederick Road about 2:30 a.m. May 17. The robbers displayed handguns and stole cash. Detectives believe that the same suspects committed the May 17 armed robbery of the 7-Eleven at 15900 Shady Grove Road. Police are looking for three men.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 11800 block of Milbern Drive in the early morning hours of May 14.

Bethesda:

A residential burglary occurred in the 8400 block of Farrell Drive between about 9 p.m. May 13 and about 10:01 a.m. May 14. Forced entry; property was taken.

A man was assaulted at the 4935 Bar & Kitchen at 4935 Cordell Ave. in the early morning hours of May 13. The person arrested was a 24-year-old from Annandale, Va., and charged with aggravated assault.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 3900 block of Prospect Street between about 3 p.m. May 11 and about 8 p.m. May 15.

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the area of University Boulevard and Connecticut Avenue about 11:05 a.m. May 14. The suspect took the juvenile male victim’s cash and property. A 36-year-old from Hagerstown was arrested.

An attempted residential garage burglary occurred in the 11100 block of Schuylkill Road between about 10:30 p.m. May 14 and about 5:45 a.m. May 15.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between May 11 and May 15. Affected streets included Corsica Drive, Acacia Avenue, Wilmett Road and Wyngate Drive. No force, one vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; property was taken.

Silver Spring:

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between May 8 and May 16. Affected streets included Eastern Avenue, Georgia Avenue, King Street, Thayer Avenue, Fidler Lane, Sligo Avenue, Colesville Road, Ellsworth Drive, Fenton Street, Houston Avenue, Malcolm Drive, Tahona Drive, Quebec Terrace, Blackburn Court, Blackburn Road, Hepburn Court, Cross River Court and Lamberton Square Road, Shanandale Drive, New Hampshire Avenue, January Drive, Fallston Avenue, Industrial Parkway, and Lockwood Drive. Force was reported in multiple events, five vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into other vehicles; cash, property and vehicles parts were taken.

Three teenagers were arrested for the Houston Avenue theft: a 13-year-old and an 18-year-old from Takoma Park, and a 12-year-old from Silver Spring.

A residential burglary occurred in the 500 block of Thayer Avenue between about 6:30 a.m. and about 7:30 a.m. May 15. No signs of forced entry; property was taken.

A theft from vehicle and a residential garage burglary occurred at the same home in the 1600 block of Sherwood Road between about 4 a.m. and about 9 a.m. May 14. The burglar entered the victim’s vehicle (parked in the driveway) by unknown means and used the garage door opener inside the vehicle to open the garage door; nothing was taken.

A commercial armed robbery occurred at the Walgreens at 11215 New Hampshire Ave. about 1:28 p.m. May 11, by two men ages 16 to 24. One robber implied that he had a weapon. Both robbers stole medications.

An attempted armed robbery occurred at The Medicine Shoppe at 12838 New Hampshire Ave. about 5:53 p.m. May 11 by a man and a woman. One of them displayed a weapon. An employee was assaulted.

Two residential burglaries were reported:

  • In the 11500 block of February Circle between about 12:30 p.m. on May 12 and about 9:15 p.m. May 13. Forced entry; property was taken.
  • In the 1900 block of Treetop Lane between about 10 a.m. and about 5:30 p.m. May 14. Forced entry; property was taken.

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 3300 block of Hampton Point Drive in the early morning hours of May 13. The robber assaulted the adult male victim and took his property.

A burglary occurred at Greencastle Elementary School at 13611 Robey Road at about 6:30 p.m. May 14. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

Wheaton:

Three thefts from vehicles occurred between about 7 p.m. on May 8 and about 9:30 a.m. May 9. Affected streets included Saint Agnes Way, Chipping Court, and Bishops Castle Drive. No force, all three vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked; cash and property were taken.

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 3100 block of Hewitt Avenue in the early morning hours of May 8. The robbers assaulted the adult male victim and took his property. A 20-year-old from Silver Spring suspect was arrested. Police seek two others.

Two residential burglaries were reported:

  • In the 11100 block of Bucknell Drive between about 12 p.m. and about 8:45 p.m. May 9. No signs of forced entry, the basement door was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.
  • In the 2900 block of Fenimore Road between about 9:30 a.m. and about 3 p.m. May 11. Forced entry; property was taken.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 2000 block of McMahon Road in the early morning hours of May 13.

Germantown:

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 20400 block of Germantown Road about 4 p.m. May 11. The suspects assaulted the juvenile male victim and took his cash and property. The two 16-year-old robbers were arrested: one from Silver Spring and one from Gaithersburg.

Seven thefts from vehicles occurred between May 8 and May 14. Affected streets included Walnutwood Lane, Middlebrook Road, Bent Willow Circle, Sky Blue Circle, Metz Court, Metz Drive and Climbing Ivy Court. No force, three vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other four vehicles; cash and property were taken. MCP urges all residents to take a role in preventing this type of crime by removing valuables and locking all doors.

Montgomery Village:

A theft from vehicle occurred in the 9700 block of Medical Center Drive between about 9 p.m. May 12 and about 12:50 a.m. May 13. Force; property was taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at MAC Business Solutions at 9057 Gaither Road in the early morning hours of May 15. Forced entry; property was taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at the Montgomery County Liquor and Wine store at 20004 Goshen Road in the early morning hours of May 17. Forced entry; property was taken.

A residential garage burglary occurred in the 8400 block of Saint Regis Way between about 6 p.m. May 15 and about 6:45 a.m. on May 16. No signs of forced entry, it was reported that the garage door was left open; nothing was taken.
