Gaithersburg police have arrested three suspects who police say were involved in an aggravated assault and strong arm robbery that occurred on Nov. 23 and 24.

Police have charged Eric Dashon Haynes (19), Lee Steven Jandres (17) and Derrick Antonio Morton (17) with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, assault and theft related charges. Police said the two juveniles are charged as adults.

According to police, on Nov. 23 at 9:45 p.m. officers responded to the 100 block of Gold Kettle Drive for the report of a strong armed robbery. Police said the juvenile victims stated that a group of unknown individuals approached them and began engaging in conversation. Then, according to police, the suspects physically assaulted the victims and removed property. A few hours later, at 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 24 police were called to West Deer Park Road and Summit Hall Road for the report of an aggravated assault. Police said two victims were approached by a group of males and a female and were physically assaulted. Police said one victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and the other sustained minor injuries.

During the initial response to the aggravated assault on West Deer Park Road, according to a police account, officers were circulating the area of the Festival Shopping Center located on Muddy Branch Road when they located a group of individuals matching the description provided by the victims. During the investigation, police said three of the five suspects were identified as being involved in both incidents.

Haynes, Jandres and Morton are currently being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center on $750,000 bond each, according to police.
