Gaithersburg Pedestrian Involved Collision Turns Fatal

A serious collision involving a pedestrian is now fatal according to the Montgomery County Police Department. 33-year-old Douglas Ariel Perez Martinez succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday at a nearby hospital.

The initial accident happened on Friday, February 21 shortly after 9:00 p.m. on South Frederick Avenue (MD – 355) near North Westland Drive in Gaithersburg.

An investigation revealed that Martinez was attempting to cross South Frederick Avenue when he was struck by a car that was traveling north on South Frederick Avenue. The driver of the car was not injured.

This case is still under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this accident is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
