The woman standing outside of the Rockville Metro station at 251 Hungerford Drive when she was approached by two unknown men, police said.
One of the men engaged the victim in conversation and the man and victim exchanged phone numbers, police said.
The victim and suspect left the Metro station and walked to the rear of a home on MacArthur Drive in Rockville, where the suspect produced a folding knife and placed it to the victim’s throat as he raped her, police said.

Shortly after the rape, the woman received a phone call and text messages from the man’s phone, which she did not answer. Investigators determined that the call and texts came from a phone that belonged to Zimmerman. Zimmerman was arrested Aug. 1 at his Gaithersburg home. At the time of his arrest, Zimmerman was wearing a hat that matched the description of the hat he is seen wearing in the Metro surveillance video.
