Gaithersburg Holiday Giving Program Now Accepting Donations, Volunteers

Gaithersburg Holiday Giving ProgramOrganizers with Gaithersburg Holiday Giving Program released in a statement that they are now accepting donations and applications to volunteer.

For the past 21 years, the City of Gaithersburg has served families in need. The city partners with a number of community groups, nonprofit organizations and individuals who collaborate to help make a difference for hundreds of local residents.

“We anticipate serving 600 families at Thanksgiving and more than 1,500 children during the December holidays this year,” Community Services Division Manager Maureen Herndon said in a statement.

Monetary donations help to purchase food, clothing and toys. The City is also seeking donations of new books, toys, hats, scares and gloves, just to name a few.

Donations can be made online.
