Gaithersburg Book Festival Brings in Thousands Despite Rain, Organizers Say

Despite this year’s rain, Gaithersburg Book Festival organizers said they are pleased with this year’s turnout.  According to Mayor Jud Ashman,  more than 14,000 people attended the book festival this year.

And while numbers are down compared to last year’s record high of 22,000 people, Ashman said he’s pleased with attendance numbers due to the weather conditions.

“I couldn’t be happier,” Ashman said. “I think that the city really shined and we showcased ourselves as a cultural destination.”

Next year marks a big year this annual event since 2019 will mark the 10th annual Gaithersburg Book Festival.
