Gaithersburg Bike-Involved Collision Now Fatal

The victim of a severe bike-involved collision in Gaithersburg has died due to injuries caused by the accident, police confirmed.

On October 9, Jose Lopez Hernandez, 36, was riding his bike on Snouffer School Road near Sweet Autumn Drive. After colliding with a car, he was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Montgomery County police confirmed that Hernandez passed away due to his injuries at a local hospital on October 12.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is still investigating the collision.  Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact the CRU at 240-773-6620.
