Gables Upper Rock Fire Debrief (PHOTOS)

Montgomery County Councilmember Nancy Floreen and other Council staff visited the aftermath of last week’s three-alarm fire at Gables Upper Rock today (April 7).
The county officials gathered at an adjacent site that overlooks the scene, and they were joined by officials from the permitting department as well.
At today’s debriefing, Montgomery County Fire Chief Steve Lohr provided the county officials with an overview of the operations side for fighting such a large fire.
For instance, Fire Spokesperson Pete Piringer said the Chief highlighted the importance of having four tower ladders in order to get an enormous amount of water on the blaze.
Piringer said the site has been turned back over to the developers for demolition.
He said it’s his understanding that they plan to rebuild.
