Friendship Picnic Set for Oct. 13 in Wheaton

A Friendship Picnic will be held on October 13 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Wheaton Regional Park, located at 2000 Shorefield Rd. in Wheaton.

The picnic is sponsored by the Montgomery County Office of Human Rights, the Montgomery County Committee on Hate/Violence, the Human Rights Commission, the Office of Community Partnerships and the County Executive’s Faith Community Working Group, along with the County Police Department and Montgomery County Department of Parks, Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission.

The picnic is an effort to bring together people of diverse cultures and faiths to make new friends and to discuss ways to build a better community. Food and drinks will be provided from 1 to 3 p.m.
