Flooding, Road Closures, and Downed Power Lines in Aftermath of Isaias

Montgomery County was hit with strong winds and rain due to Tropical Storm Isaias on Aug. 4, and the storm left behind some damage.

Chief spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service Pete Piringer tweeted out pictures of the damage, including portions of Sligo Creek Parkway closed due to high water and a tree blocking Chaney Drive off Flower Avenue in Takoma Park.

Brian Hopkins, a TV news photographer, also tweeted more photos of the storm damage in Takoma Park.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services tweeted out warnings, telling residents not to drive through flooded areas, since as little as six inches of water could cause someone to lose control of their vehicle.
