Flash Flood Watch in Montgomery County
Due to hazardous weather conditions the National Weather Service has put out a flash flood watch until July 25, 6 p.m. EDT for Baltimore, Marylandand D.C. areas.
Residents are advised to avoid wooded areas, as trees tend to fall easily in saturated ground with little or no wind.
Recent heavy rainfall has ground extremely saturated. This may cause trees to topple w/ little or no wind. If you live in or drive thru wooded areas, remain alert for potential of downed trees. Consider altering your route or staying in the interior of
the lowest level of house https://t.co/kAAKI8soCw— Pete Piringer (@mcfrsPIO) July 24, 2018
Saturated ground is causing many trees to topple even with little or no wind. Please be extra careful in and near wooded areas through tomorrow, and avoid them if possible. More info: https://t.co/OOXqenBrex

NEW: large tree down on Prince Phillip Drive in Olney.
No one hurt, and the tree just missed this home.
Landscaping crew here to haul the tree away says they’ve “been going nonstop” over the last few days due to heavy rains that have saturated the ground. pic.twitter.com/DKIjBmpnCl— Heather Graf (@ABC7HeatherGraf) July 24, 2018
