1. You are going to need that umbrella again today as the rains continue and it’s going to get windy, too.  Be sure and register to receive Montgomery County alerts and keep up with the latest information in case of severe weather and other emergencies in our area.

2. An open house is planned from 1-4 p.m. today for the new Wheaton Sports Pavilion.

3. You can meet the National Capital Art Glass Guild artists at an opening reception from 3-5:30 p.m. today at the Glenview Mansion for “The Secret Life of Glass” exhibit. The art exhibit includes blown, fused, stained, cast, etched, painted and flameworked glass pieces.

4. The Montgomery County Council will hold five public hearings on the County Executive’s recommended FY 2015 budget next month. Sign up now to testify at one of those hearings.

5. Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett, who is running for re-election, appears on “21 This Week” today at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Montgomery Channel 21. You can watch a preview here.
