1. Montgomery County public schools are closed today because of the winter storm. The federal government is also closed. Montgomery County government offices are opening at 10 a.m. but senior centers are closed today. We have posted a rundown of the latest snow closings and delays on the MyMCMedia website.

2. Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett will present his 2015 recommended operating budget at noon today. You can watch the budget presentation live on Montgomery Channel 21.

3. Montgomery County Council President Craig Rice canceled his weekly briefing today because of the winter weather.

4. A Gaithersburg police officer is recovering from serious injuries received during a dispute call this weekend.

5. It’s St. Patrick’s Day but the festival planned for Silver Spring later today has been canceled because of the winter weather.
