1. Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) has 138 semifinalists in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship competition. 2. Less than a week away: The Silver Spring Transit Center opens on Sept. 20.
3. Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett took a photo for Donald Trump at the Hispanic Gala.

5. The Washington Spirit’s season is over. The Spirit lost to Seattle Reign, 3-0, last night in the semi-final game.
