1. Montgomery County’s Board of Education has voted to seek a waiver from the state of Maryland to start the 2017-2018 school year before Labor Day.
2. Now is the time to get your flu shot. Maryland health officials have confirmed the first case of the seasonal flu in the National Capital Region. For information about upcoming flu vaccine clinics, visit the county’s website here.
3. The deadline to register to vote in the Presidential General Election in Montgomery County is October 18th. That’s just one week from today.
4. The Long Branch Library is hosting a free event tonight from 6 p.m. – 7 :30 p.m. for families who need help in filling out the FAFSA form. Assistance will be available in both English and Spanish.
