1. Heat Wave: Montgomery County officials have posted some online health and safety tips to beat the heat during this week-long heat wave. For more information about staying cool, visit the county’s Summer of Safety website.

2. Power Outages: Pepco officials say they are preparing for this heat wave by adding personnel in case the electric grid is stretched and power outages occur. The utility has also posted some online tips for conserving energy.

3. Muslim Solidarity: Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett and County Council President Nancy Floreen are scheduled to sign a joint agreement today, in Germantown, reaffirming the county’s solidarity with the Muslim community.

4.  Montgomery Plans Meeting: A community meeting to discuss the Grosvenor Strathmore Metro Area Minor Master plan takes place tonight from 7 – 9 p.m. at the Strathmore Music Center’s Comcast Lounge.  You can RSVP, here.

5. Summer Concert: The Rock & Roll Relics are headlining Glen Echo’s summer concert series tonight at the Bumper Car Pavilion.
