1. The city of Gaithersburg Mayor and Council are meeting tonight and on the agenda is a presentation on the Lakeforest Transit Center.

2. Bethesda native Katie Ledecky competes in heat 4 of the women’s 200-meter freestyle in the 2016 Olympics today at 12:22 p.m. Sunday, she won a gold medal in the 400-meter freestyle and set a new world record.

3. Darnestown native Ashley Nee competes in the 2016 Olympics today in the preliminaries for the women’s kayak slalom at 12:10 p.m.

4. Seven Community Recreation Centers are closed now through August 21 for cleaning and repairs. A complete schedule is available here.

5. Republican activist Robin Ficker plans to deliver his petition to add a term limit question on the November ballot to Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett today.

Two more things:  The Holiday Park Senior Center reopens today, but parking will be limited during the installation of solar panels. The city of Gaithersburg has openings in the last two School of Skateboard Clinics for youth.
