1. Montgomery County Police Chief Tom Manger and MCPS Superintendent Larry Bowers are meeting with the media today to tout back-to-school safety.
2. Montgomery County police officers are looking for the vandals who painted swastikas on speed cameras in Olney and Rockville. County Executive Ike Leggett said he is “appalled” by the vandalism. “This behavior will not be tolerated,” he said in a statement posted on the county’s website.
3. The Compassion Experience arrives in Clarksburg today. So far, over 2,100 people have registered for the tour.
4. WSSC extends the closing of the Brown’s Bridge Recreation Area until Sept. 11, following a sewage spill earlier this month.
5. The Washington Spirit has secured a playoff spot.
