Here are five things to know today, Aug. 23, in Montgomery County:

1. Movies Under the Stars: The City of Rockville’s last “Movies in the Parks” event of the summer will feature Zootopia at Calvin Park, 1248 Gladstone Drive, starting at dusk.

2. Rockwood Manor Open House: Tour Rockwood Manor Park in Potomac from 4 to 8 p.m. RSVP requested, available online, here.

3. Animal Homes: Elementary aged children meet some live animals and find out about their homes at this special event at Germantown Library. Registration for the 3 p.m. event, here; for the 4 p.m. event, here.

4. Cover the Cruiser: Montgomery County law enforcement officers from multiple agencies will be at the Chick-fil-A in Kentlands from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today. Residents are asked to join the officers and make a donation to Special Olympics Maryland. Each donation will be represented on a paper icon and attached to a police cruiser.

5. Coffee With A Cop: Montgomery County police Department’s Fifth District will host ‘Coffee with a Cop’ from 8 to 10 a.m. at Denise Bakery & Deli in Clarksburg. Fourth District officers will also host a ‘Coffee with a Cop’ from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dunkin Donuts on Georgia Avenue in Aspen Hill.
