Here are five things to know today, April 20, in Montgomery County:
1. Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett is scheduled to hold a live discussion today at 2 p.m. Residents will have the opportunity to send questions directly to the County Executive through an interactive online forum.
2. Early voting continues from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. at ten locations across Montgomery County until April 21. The Maryland Primary Election is set for April 26.
3. Pepco filed a 10 percent rate hike request with the Maryland Public Service Commission on Tuesday.
4. Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) will be extending its school year to June 20 after Maryland education officials approved a one day waiver.
5. A film screening of “A Thousand and One Journeys: The Arab Americans” is scheduled to take place at Montgomery College’s Rockville Campus Theater Arts building at 7 p.m. tonight. The screening is free and open to the public.
