Five Things to Know for Nov. 1 in Montgomery County

Here’s five things to know today, Nov. 1, in Montgomery County:

1. Road Safety: County Executive Leggett will announce the county’s two-year action plan to eliminate traffic deaths at a briefing at the Executive Office Building in Rockville.

2. Takoma Park Election: Early voting starts today at the Takoma Park Community Center from 2 to 8 p.m.

3. Urban Forestry:  A Trees Matter Symposium is being held in Silver Spring today.

4. Aging Well in Our Communities: A panel of speakers moderated by Councilmember Craig Rice will discuss existing resources for aging in place at the Damascus Public Library from 10 a.m. to noon.

5. Bicycle Community Meeting: Councilmembers Hans Riemer and Roger Berliner, along with planning and transportation department representatives, meet with residents to discuss bicycle recommendations for downtown Bethesda.
