Here are five things to know for Tuesday, May 8, in Montgomery County:
1. Free College Tuition: Gov. Larry Hogan is expected to sign a bill today that would offer free tuition at State community colleges to qualifying residents.
2. Montgomery College Nursing Program Celebrates 50 Years: Montgomery County Councilmember Craig Rice will present a proclamation recognizing the 50-year anniversary of Montgomery College’s Nursing Program.
3. National Nurses Week: And speaking of nursing, it’s National Nurses Week!
4. Purple Line: The Purple Line Community Advisory Team (CAT) for Silver Spring will host a meeting to discuss construction, outreach activities to local business, and the maintenance of traffic during construction.
5. Good Hope Neighborhood Recreation Center:

6. And one last thing…
County will offer free Naloxone training today. Naloxone is the medication used to reverse effects of opioid overdose. Training will take place at the Department of Health and Human Services from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration is required. Those interested can call 240.777.1836.
