1, Mayor and Council Meet: The City of Rockville Mayor and Council meet at 9:30 a.m. today to authorize the City Manager to make an agreement with the County regarding health benefits for city employees. Find the agenda, here.
2. Back to School Countdown: We spoke with Montgomery County Public Schools spokesperson Derek Turner about school security. See our report: “Montgomery Schools Boosting Security.”
3. Labor Day Holiday Kickoff Concert and Party: The Crawdaddies perform Cajun, Zydeco and Blues on the Fountain Plaza Stage in Silver Spring from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
4. Zumba in the park: All ages are welcome for this free, family-friendly event at the Gaithersburg City Hall Pavilion from 7 – 8 p.m.
5. MCM Game of the Week: Beginning today, MCM will bring you covreage of Montgomery County high school football with a Game of the Week. Tonight’s game Blake at Damascus.
