Five Things to Know for Aug. 29 in Montgomery County

Here are five things you need to know today, Aug. 29, in Montgomery County:

1. Another Hot Day:  The National Weather Service expects the heat index to hit above 100 degrees today. Montgomery County officials have issued a hyperthermia alert effective until 8 p.m.

2. Free Vaccinations: There’s still time to obtain free Tdap and MCV4 immunizations for your seventh student.  Here are the list of dates and times.

3. Reptiles Rock Show: Montgomery County Public Libraries’ Germantown Branch will host an educational program featuring reptiles.  Residents can meet a colorful variety of live reptiles presented by a Wildlife Educator. This show is family friendly.

4. Free Yoga on the Plaza: There will be free community yoga on the Downtown Silver Spring Stage near the fountain from 7 to 7:45 p.m. Bring a mat and water bottle.
