Five Things to Know for Aug. 14 in Montgomery County
Here are five things you need to know for Tuesday, Aug. 14, in Montgomery County:
1. Eviction Protection for Tenants: Montgomery County leaders are inviting residents to learn more about legislation underway that aims to protect tenants from certain evictions today. The study will take place at the Silver Spring Civic Center, located at 1 Veterans Plaza in Silver Spring, and begins at 6:30 p.m.
2. Leading the Way: One Montgomery Green is hosting a climate change mini-summit to address climate change efforts in Montgomery County. Today’s event will be held at the Silver Spring Civic Center from 8 a.m. to noon.
3. Yoga in the Park: The City of Gaithersburg is offering yoga in the park on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m., at the City Hall Concert Pavilion, located at 31 South Summit Avenue. Participants should bring a yoga mat, towel or blanket.
4. Seventh Grade Immunization Clinics Continue: As the 2018-2019 school year approaches, Montgomery County is offering free Tdap and MCV4 vaccinations to incoming seventh-grade students at the locations throughout the County until August. Click here for a list of times and schedules.
