Here are five things to know for Wednesday, May 9, in Montgomery County:
1. Makeover Montgomery: Today marks the beginning of the Makeover Montgomery 4 Conference. The three-day conference will bring together planners, developers, social scientists, and others, to discuss ideas for transforming suburbs in the county.
2. Youth Homelessness: With an estimated 1,300 youth who are homeless in Montgomery County, nonprofit and community leaders will host a forum to discuss the challenges and solutions to tackle this issue. The forum will be held at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center and begins at 7:00 p.m. Register by clicking here.
3. Girls Empowering Moments: Montgomery Recreation will host its Girls Empowering Moments session where participants will learn how to map out their goals and enhance leadership skills. The meeting will take place at the Gwendolyn E. Coffield Community Recreation Center located at 2450 Lyttonsville Road in Silver Spring.
4. Damascus Senior Center Community Forum: Share your ideas, concerns, and suggestions for the Damascus Senior Center during a community forum expected to take place from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
