1. River Road intersection: The State Highway Administration hosts an open house tonight at Walt Whitman High School to share proposed upgrades to an intersection near the school.

2. Sister Cities Annual meeting: The Montgomery Sister Cities board presents a panel discussion on “The Importance of Global Citizenship” moderated by County Executive Ike Leggett at the Silver Spring Civic Building from 6-9 p.m.

3. Gaithersburg Skate Park opens: The city of Gaithersburg Skate Park opens for the season at 3 p.m. today. The park is located at 510 South Frederick Avenue.

4. Egg Decorating with Police: Montgomery 4th District police officers invite the community to decorate eggs today at the Westfield Wheaton Target.

5. Underground Railroad Trail Guided Hike: The 2 mile hike is led by “conductors” through a simulated Underground Railroad experience from Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park to Sandy Spring, then back to the Woodlawn Museum. Hikers learn about various techniques that “freedom seekers” used to elude trackers, find food, and navigate their way North to freedom.
