Fatal Pedestrian Ax in Aspen Hill
Montgomery County police are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred in the Aspen Hill area on Feb. 11.
At approximately 10:20 p.m., 4th District officers and fire-rescue personnel responded to a call for a pedestrian struck on Georgia Avenue at Heathfield Road.
According to the police department’s preliminary investigation, a white 2005 Nissan Altima was traveling southbound on Georgia Avenue in lane two and struck a 59-year-old male pedestrian who was crossing Georgia Ave from west to east at Heathfield Road.
The pedestrian was flown to Suburban Hospital where he died of his injuries, police said.
Police have identified the victim as Frank Sedwick of Silver Spring. The driver of the Altima has been identified by police as Victoria Carter, 24 years old, of Triangle, VA.
According to police, the circumstances surrounding this collison remain under investigation.
