859648_430400417037513_1717341745_oMontgomery County police are investigating a fatal hit and run collision that occurred on Feb. 26.

Police said at approximately 8:15 p.m., officers from the 4th district station and fire-rescue personnel responded to the area of Connecticut Avenue and Randolph Road for a report of a pedestrian struck.

According to police, responding units located the female victim just off southbound Connecticut Avenue at Everton Street. She was in the grassy area between the curb lane and the service road, police said. The victim was transported to Suburban Hospital where she later died of her injuries.

Police said the driver involved in the collision fled the scene.

According to the preliminary investigation, the victim was crossing from east to west on Connecticut Avenue at Everton Street and she was on the south side of the intersection. Police said the victim had crossed the northbound lanes safely but was struck by a vehicle in the southbound lanes.

Police have identified the victim as Marlyn Eres Ali (53) of the 3800 block of nearby Elby Street.

Based on vehicle evidence left at the scene, detectives have developed a description of the suspect vehicle.  The suspect vehicle is described  by police as a late 1990′s to early 2000′s Toyota Corolla with an unknown color.  Damage should be to the right front corner of the vehicle to include (but not limited to) the headlight assembly, police said.
