Elrich’s Public Safety Task Force Meets Thursday
Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich’s public safety task force is scheduled to meet Thursday at 6 p.m. The virtual meeting will be streamed live via Facebook and will be broadcast live on County Cable Montgomery (CCM).
The group, known as the Reimagining Public Safety task force, was established to develop recommendations for changes to the Montgomery County Police Department and related public safety programs. The recommendations are expected to be complete by January 18, 2021.
County Executive Marc Elrich announced that he was creating the task force in late June when he said the county would hire an outside consultant to conduct a full review of the police department.
The task force met for the first time Monday, August 31 to introduce goals for the group. Slides of the presentation may be found, here. The meeting was recorded and may be watched below.
Thursday the task force will meet for the second time.
