Elderly Woman Missing from Bethesda Found Safe
UPDATED: Police say Gertrude Marion Haugan has been found safe.
ORIGINAL – Detectives from the 2nd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s help to find a missing 95-year-old woman.
According to police, Gertrude Marion Haugan, of the 4700 block of South Chelsea Lane in Bethesda, was last seen on April 22. Haugan is described by police as a white female, 5’ 2” tall, and weighing 110 pounds. She has light brown hair. It is not known what clothing Ms. Haugan was wearing at the time of disappearance.
Police said, Haugan’s car was found April 26 a short distance from her home in an alley off of 7413 Maple Ave. It was recovered by police and is described as a blue 1996 Toyota Camry with Maryland tags, DVG 064.
Family, friends, and police are concerned for her welfare because it is unusual for Haugan not to have regular contact with friends and neighbors. Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Gertrude Marion Haugan is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police at 301.279.8000.
