Discussion Against Violent Extremism Planned for Sunday

The World Organization for Resource Development and Education (WORDE) will host a discussion titled “Is Someone Recruiting Our Kids?” focused on ISIS inspired operatives and homegrown extremism on Sunday, February 7.

Speakers include Christian Picciolini, author of “Romantic Violence” and “Memoirs of an American Skinhead” and Mubin Shaikh who wrote “Undercorver Jihadi: Inside the Toronto 18” and “Al Qaeda Inspired.” Nouf Bazaz, the International Cultural Center’s Crossroads Program Director will also participate in the discussion. Homegrown Extremism Event

The event is free and open to the public and a light dinner will be served. Sponsors include WORDE, the Faith Community Working Group (FCWG), Kehilat Shalom, B’nai Shalom, the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, D.C., and Family Services Inc.

Doors open at 3:30 p.m. and the event will start promptly at 4:00 p.m. at the International Cultural Center which is located at 19650 Club House Road in Suite 205 in Montgomery Village. You can register online and view the flyer for the event here.
