Detectives Investigate Bank Robbery at Navy Federal Credit Union in Gaithersburg

The Montgomery County Police Department is investigating a robbery that took place Monday at the Navy Federal Credit Union in Gaithersburg.

Officers responded to the bank located on the 100 block of Ellington Boulevard, and after further investigation found that the suspect approached a teller with a note announcing the robbery. After demanding cash and implying that he was armed with a weapon, the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Detectives say the suspect is described as a dark-skinned male wearing hospital scrubs, a black Adidas cap, glasses, and some kind of cover on his head.

Anyone with information about this bank robbery is asked to contact the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100.  To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of this suspect.  Tipsters may remain anonymous.
