Department of Permitting Services to Host Open House On New Building Codes

Montgomery County Department of Permitting Services is scheduled to host the first of three open house sessions on Aug. 28 to provide information on new building codes.

The goal, according to officials, is to help the construction industry to get familiarized the with new codes- adopted to implement the 2015 code cycle- that affects policies and procedures and code interpretations.

There will be sessions in the morning and afternoon to cover a variety of topics such as International Building Codes, International Mechanical Code, International Fuel-Gas Code, International Energy Conservation Code, International Residential Code, and International Swimming Pool and Spa Code.

Morning sessions are from 9 a.m. to noon and afternoon sessions are from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Registration is required for each event. The next two open houses are scheduled to be held on Sept. 4 and 11.
