COVID-19 Numbers: a Quarter of County Residents are Fully Vaccinated
Montgomery County COVID-19 Statistics for April 13
The Maryland Department of Health reported 116 new COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County Tuesday morning. The county’s cumulative case count is 68,260.
As of April 12, the county reported that 108 people were hospitalized with COVID-19.
Montgomery County recorded no new coronavirus-related fatalities Tuesday, so the death toll in the county remains at 1,447.
The county has a rolling seven-day average of 3.02% for positive COVID-19 tests, which is an increase of 0.05 from Monday’s average rate of 2.97%. The county’s positivity rate is lower than in 21 of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions.
Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services clinics are currently vaccinating residents age 16 and older. The first step to receive a vaccination through a county-run clinic is to preregister for the vaccine online.
According to Montgomery County health officials, 24.9% of the county’s residents are fully vaccinated for COVID-19; 41.8% have received their first dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna two-dose vaccine.
Montgomery County leads the state in total COVID-19 related fatalities (1,447 deaths) but not in total cases. Prince George’s County has 1,383 fatalities and the most coronavirus cases in the state with 80,370 cases. Baltimore County has the next highest fatalities with 1,376 and 59,421 cumulative COVID-19 cases.
Somerset County on the Eastern Shore has the highest cases per capita at 97.8 cases per 1,000 residents. Allegany County in the western region of the state has the second-highest cases per capita at 94.3 cases per 1,000 residents.

Tuesday, the state recorded 1,084 new infections, bringing the state’s cumulative case count to 428,799.
1,243 patients are hospitalized with COVID-19 across the state.
Maryland recorded 14 new coronavirus-related fatalities Tuesday bringing the death toll to 8,298.
The state reported a rolling seven-day average of 5.53% for positive COVID-19 tests Tuesday. This is a decrease of 0.07 from Monday’s rate of 5.6%. The rate has remained above 5% since March 30.
During a media briefing Monday, April 5, Gov. Larry Hogan announced that all Marylanders ages 16 and older are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine at the state’s mass vaccination sites starting Tuesday, April 6. The first step to receive a vaccine at any of the state’s mass vaccination sites is to pre-register online at covidvax.maryland.gov or by calling the state’s COVID-19 vaccination support center at 1-865-MC-GOVAX.
According to the Maryland Department of Health, 20,704% of the state’s residents have received two doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine; and 2.87% have received the single-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine.
