COVID-19 Cases in Montgomery County Increase by 162

As of Sunday morning,the Maryland Department of Health reports 3,645 cases of COVID-19 in Montgomery County, which is an increase of 162 cases from 3,483 on Saturday.

The health department reports that 160 county residents have died from COVID-19. This is an increase of eight deaths since Saturday. The state also reports the number of probable deaths which not yet been confirmed with COVID-19 testing. Sunday’s number of probable deaths is 20.

As of Sunday morning, there were 18,581 confirmed cases throughout the state. That is an increase of 815.

The total number of deaths in Maryland was 827, which is an increase of 30, according to the Department of Health.

In Maryland, 3,962 people have been hospitalized. This is an increase of 202.

Throughout the state, 1,500 hospital beds are being used for COVID-19 patients. Of that total, 933 beds are for acute care and 530 are in the intensive care unit.

A total of 6,742 cases and 305 deaths involve the state’s African American community.
