Court Documents Show Hoggle’s Deception

Court documents recently obtained by MyMCMedia detail a tale of lies and deception in the case against Catherine Hoggle.CatherineHoggleCustody

Hoggle was arrested Sept. 12 in connection with the disappearance of her two toddlers, Jacob, 2 and Sarah, 3. The children have been missing for more than a week.  Hoggle, 27, of Clarksburg, is charged with child neglect and obstructing and hindering. Police said additional charges of parental abduction are pending.

Police say they have searched 13,000 acres in the Darnestown and Clarksburg areas and have so far failed to find the children. They now say they are building a homicide case against Hoggle.

What police do know is Hoggle has changed her story about what happened to her children on several occassions during the 15 -hour interview after her arrest. According to court documents, Hoggle originally told investigations she dropped the children off with an “old high school friend” named Erin who lives in Bethesda. When pressed she could not come up with “Erin’s” last name or address. She allegedly told investigators the information was in her cell phone but when they gave her the phone, she deleted information on the phone, according to the documents.

Then Hoggle told investigators she dropped off the toddlers at a park in Germantown, according to the court documents.

The children’s father Troy Turner said Hoggle refused to tell him where the children are and he said she may feel she is protecting them by leaving them in the care of a “friend.” He said he believes his children are still alive

Prior to her arrest, Hoggle had told Turner Jacob was at a sleepover and then that she dropped the two at a new daycare in the area. When Turner asked him to take her to that daycare she couldn’t find it and the couple drove around for several hours before Turner said he wanted to report them missing to police. On the way to the Fifth District Police Station in Germantown, the two stopped at a Chik-Fil-A, where Hoggle slipped out of the restaurant and disappeared. She was missing for four days before a citizen reported seeing her on Crystal Rock Drive and called police.

Hoggle is being held on more than a $1-million bond and has been ordered to have a psychiatric evaluation. She is scheduled for a bond review on Sept. 30.
