County Seeks Organizations to Host Naloxone Training Sessions

Montgomery County’s Opioid Response Program provides training to the community on the use of Naloxone to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. Naloxone is a nasal spray which is relatively simple to administer. In the past year, the County has trained more than 1,200 residents to use Naloxone to save someone’s life.

The Opioid Overdose Response Program is looking for locations to hold future training sessions. The sessions may be offered privately or made available to the general public. Training sessions teach participants to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose. Participants who complete the training will receive a free Naloxone kit.

Organizations interested in hosting a training session should contact the Opioid Overdose Response Program at Overdoseresponseprogram@montgomerycountymd.gov or call 240-777-1836.

• Wednesday, May 15 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

• Monday, May 20 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

  Rockville

• Saturday, June 8 from 10 to 11 a.m.

• Wednesday, June 12 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

  Rockville
