County Police Report Aggravated Assault, 2 Strong-Arm Robberies, Several Armed Robberies
Montgomery County police reported an aggravated assault near Contour Road and Lost Knife Road, Gaithersburg at about 6:30 p.m. Feb. 1, police said. One person displayed a weapon and assaulted a man. Police are looking for five men.
County police reported two strong-arm robberies:
— Inside the McDonald’s at 501 E. Randolph Road, Colesville, between about 7:45 a.m. and about 8 a.m. Feb. 7. The robber took property from a man.
— Near Germantown Road and Middlebrook Road, Germantown, at about 10:15 a.m. Feb. 2. The male robber assaulted a woman; nothing was taken.
County police reported several armed robberies, including a bank robbery, in its latest crime report.
The bank robbery occurred about 10:55 a.m. Feb. 2 at the M&T Bank, at 3221 Spartan Road, Olney. The robber implied he had a weapon and stole cash, police said. For more information and to see surveillance photos of the robber, click here.
Four men were arrested about 4:15 a.m. Feb. 2 at the CVS Pharmacy at 12359 Georgia Ave., Wheaton, police said. The four could be involved in other commercial robberies, police said. For more information, click here.
A commercial armed robbery occurred at the Middlebrook Discount Beer & Wine about 9:30 p.m. Feb. 3 at 19601 Frederick Road, Germantown, police said. The robber, an unidentified man, displayed a weapon, assaulted a man who worked there and took cash, police said.
An armed robbery occurred near Georgia Avenue and Shorefield Road, Wheaton, about 9:45 p.m. Feb. 3, police said. The robber displayed a weapon and took a man’s property.
An armed robbery occurred in the area of Palmetto Circle and Father Hurley Boulevard, Germantown, about 2:45 p.m. Feb. 4, police said. One robber displayed a weapon, and all took the man’s cash and property.
And in another, two men of unknown ages robbed a man about 4 p.m. Feb. 5 near Veirs Mill Road and Twinbrook Parkway, Rockville, police said. One of the robbers displayed a weapon.
A man and a woman attempted an armed robbery about 11:54 p.m. Feb. 1 in the 400 block of North Frederick Avenue, Gaithersburg, police said. The man displayed a weapon and assaulted the adult male victim.
County police also reported a number of burglaries, including:
— 7600 block of Moccasin Lane, Derwood, between about 2:30 p.m. Feb. 3 and about 8:30 p.m. Feb. 6. Forced entry; property was taken.
— 4200 block of Mathews Lane, Kensington, between about 8 p.m. Feb. 3 and about 10:20 a.m. Feb. 5. Forced entry; property was taken.
— 9600 block of Old Spring Road, Kensington, between about 1:40 p.m. and about 2:40 p.m. Feb. 6. No signs of forced entry, it was reported that a window was left unlocked; property was taken.
— The Five Guys at 10510 Connecticut Ave., Kensington, at about 3:56 a.m. Feb. 6. The burglars may be responsible for other commercial burglaries, including at a Wingstop at 13633 Connecticut Ave., Kensington, in the early morning hours of Feb. 4. — 8000 block of Summer Mill Court, Bethesda, between about 4 p.m. and about 7 p.m. Feb. 3. Forced entry; property was taken.
— The Islamic Center of Maryland at 19411 Woodfield Road, Gaithersburg, at about 10 p.m. Feb. 5. Forced entry; cash was taken.
— VT Nails and Spa at 13022 Middlebrook Road, Germantown, in the early morning hours of Feb. 7. Forced entry; cash was taken.
— 200 block of Brookes Avenue, Gaithersburg, between about 6 p.m. Feb. 2 and about 3 p.m. Feb. 3. Forced entry of a residential shed; property was taken.
— 5000 block of Tothill Drive, Olney, between about 4:30 p.m. Feb. 5 and about 2:03 p.m. Feb. 6. Forced entry; nothing was taken.
— 13000 block of Camellia Drive, Silver Spring, a residential burglary and a stolen vehicle between about 8 p.m. Jan. 30 and 7 a.m. Jan. 31. No signs of forced entry; vehicle keys were taken during the burglary and used to steal the victim’s vehicle.
—100 block of Crest Park Court, Silver Spring, between about 7:30 a.m. and about 10:30 p.m. Feb 2. No signs of forced entry, it was reported that a window was left unlocked; property was taken.
— 3000 block of McComas Avenue, Kensington, between about 7:10 a.m. and about 4:40 p.m. Feb. 6. No signs of forced entry, a window was found unlocked; property was taken.
— 19500 block of Frederick Road, Germantown, between about 9:15 a.m. and about 3 p.m. on 01/30. Forced entry; property was taken.
— 11100 block of Sceptre Ridge Terrace, Germantown, about 8 p.m. Feb. 3. No signs of forced entry, it was reported that the garage door was left partially opened; nothing was taken.
— 20200 block of Sweet Meadow Lane, Gaithersburg, between about 5 a.m. and about 6:30 p.m. Feb. 1. Forced entry; property was taken.
—22200 block of Creekview Drive, Gaithersburg, between about 6:30 a.m. and about 9 p.m. Feb. 1. Forced entry; property was taken.
— 9800 block of Bethesda Church Road, Damascus, in the early morning hours of Feb. 4. No signs of forced entry; property was taken.
— 19500 block of Waters Road, Germantown, between about 5:30 a.m. and about 11 a.m. Feb. 1. No signs of forced entry; property was taken.
— 300 block of Bristol Downs Drive, Gaithersburg, attempted burglary about 1:43 p.m. Feb. 7.
— 4600 block of Franklin Street, Kensington, attempted burglary between about 7:05 p.m. and about 9:54 p.m. Feb. 4.
— 9700 block of Sotweed Drive, Potomac, attempted burglary between about 8:33 p.m. and about 10 p.m. Feb. 3.
— Foxhall Apartments leasing office at 8715 Piney Branch Road, Silver Spring, attempted burglary in the early morning hours of Feb. 5.
— Liberty Gas Station at 13330 Old Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, attempted commercial burglary in the early morning hours of Feb. 8.
— 1800 block of Bluebell Lane, Olney, attempted burglary between about 8:15 p.m. and about 8:40 p.m. Feb. 5.
— 4600 block of Winding Stone Circle, Olney, attempted burglary, between about 7 p.m. Feb. 5 and about 12:08 p.m. Feb. 7.
County police reported several thefts from vehicles between Jan. 30 and Feb. 6. Affected streets include Dublin Drive, Brisbane Street, Clearview Place, Cody Drive, Dallas Avenue, Burnt Mill Avenue and Oak Leaf Drive, Hollywood Avenue, Buckley Drive, Winhall Way, Gracefield Road, Layhill Road, Moonlight Trail Court, Middlevale Lane, Carlisle Court, Holly Grove Road, Gunners Branch Road, Minstrel Tune Drive, Stoney Point Place, Ledbury Way, Millstream Drive, Cambridge Court, Capehart Drive, Crested Iris Way, Cove Ledge Court, Airpark Road, Filbert Terrace, Filbert Court and Laytonia Drive.
Force was reported in 11 events, three vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked; cash and property were taken.
