County Encouraging Youth Ages 12-15 to Get Vaccinated

Montgomery County health officials encourage youth to get vaccinated now that the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine has been authorized for the 12-15-year-old age group.

According to the county’s Vaccination Distribution Dashboard, more than 20,000 kids have gotten their first dose so far– including 15-year-old Anthony Luna-Lopez of Silver Spring.

Lopez shares his experience of getting the vaccine at the White Oak Community Recreation Center.

Now that more doses are available, county leaders urge residents who are not yet vaccinated to do so as soon as possible. Free and convenient vaccination appointments and walk-in opportunities are available at multiple locations across the county. Click here for more information.
