Councilmembers Reimer, Rice, Albornoz and Jawando Announce Presentation Award Winners

At the culmination of the 2019 Invent the Future Challenge Saturday more than 850 middle school students presented their inventions for preserving the planet. For a full year, the students had worked on their ideas, creating solutions and designing prototypes. The team of judges included professionals from MOAA, NIST, Pepco, Emergent BioSolutions, University of Maryland, Johns Hopkins and others.

Winners of the “presentation category” received a special treat, when Councilmembers Hans Reimer, Craig Rice, Gabe Abornoz and Will Jawando announced the winners. The council members also invited all the students to enter an upcoming “Councilmember for a Day” competition.
