Clarksburg Girls Advance in Softball Playoffs with Win Against Quince Orchard, 2-1 (PHOTOS)

The Clarksburg Coyote girls softball team advanced in the West region of the playoffs Tuesday with their win at Quince Orchard, 2-1. The Quince Orchard Cougars were held scoreless till the seventh inning when they scored the tying run on 3rd base but failed to advance the runner. The Coyote’s manufactured their runs earlier in the contest, once in the first and again in the third innings, then quietly shut down the Cougars until the seventh inning. Clarksburg will face Northwest, ranked in the top 10 for the region by The Washington Post, in Germantown Wednesday afternoon and could advance to meet the winner of Montgomery Blair and Bethesda Chevy-Chase in the Regional Finals on Friday.
