Churchill Dominates Walter Johnson 13-1 in 4A West LAX Playoff
Churchill High School Potomac, Maryland May 10th 2019
The lacrosse game at Churchill High school began with the Bulldogs scoring three goals in a little over one minute. What began at a blistering pace for Churchill unfolded as total domination of all aspects of the 4A West MPSSAA playoff lacrosse game. Churchill’s lacrosse team has a young team of talented players who are guided by coach Jeff Fritz. The Churchill lacrosse program’s success has a lot to do with how coach Fritz and his staff get the most out of a young team. Friday night the coaches of Churchill had their team hitting on all cylinders. I would imagine the coaches would not say the Bulldogs played a great game, no coach would say that. What was apparent in the first minute and ten seconds was that Churchill was ready to defend their regional championship from last season and they were not going to give Walter Johnson the possibility of an upset. Walter Johnson was outmatched and managed to score once late in the first half.
As the playoffs unfold this spring Churchill’s young team has work to do as they face a new opponent in the 4A West region. Churchill plays host to BCC on Monday, May 13. Good luck to the Bulldogs as they continue in their quest for another 4A West Regional Championship.
