Bette Carol Thompson Recreation Center Dedication (VIDEO)

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett recently joined residents of the Scotland community for a ribbon cutting ceremony and dedication of a new recreation center in Potomac. The newly renovated facility was renamed for Scotland native and community activist Bette Carol Thompson.

    This was a fitting tribute to the saint who got up every morning and picked up the trash that accumulated from the previous day around the center. Her dedication to her community is admirable and something that I hope all residents rise up to achieve.
