Bethesda Jewelry Store Armed Robbery Suspect Charged
Montgomery County Police Detectives have arrested and charged a suspect who they say is responsible for the December 13 armed robbery at a Bethesda Jewelry Store.
42-year-old Derrick Lamont Graham has been charged for the armed robbery at the Jewelry Exchange store on the 7000 block of Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda. Police say they are still looking for two additional suspects involved in this case.
According to a press release, three male suspects entered the store. While one displayed a handgun, the other two suspects stole jewelry. Approximately 100 pieces of jewelry worth more than $60,000 were taken.
On December 17, the police department released surveillance video of the suspects and asked for help in identifying them. Detectives received multiple tips identifying Graham as the suspect who displayed the handgun.
On December 30, Graham was arrested in Arlington, Virginia, on unrelated charges. Graham remains in custody and is pending extradition to Montgomery County.
Detectives continue to work to identify the two remaining suspects and ask that anyone with information about these suspects contact the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100. To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of these suspects. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
