Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz Considers a Run for Governor (VIDEO)
Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz said he is considering a run for governor in 2018.
Kamenetz is touting his record of service in Baltimore County and said he may enter the race because there is a lot of work to get done statewide.
He said his experience in Baltimore County on issues such as school construction and the protecting the environment make him a good candidate.
“I’ve been county executive of a very large county, a larger population than four states,” Kamenetz said.
“We are not seeing the long term policy progress taking place with Governor Hogan,” Kamenetz said. “It is all very short term. He cuts the tolls, and isn’t that great, but what he really cut was $54 million out of the transportation budget and we are still stuck in traffic. His only other accomplishment was to mandate that schools start after Labor Day, taking away the local option of the professionals, and he didn’t do it to advance the educational outcome of children. He did it to see more funnel cakes in Ocean City.”
