Aspen Hill Man Charged With Rape, Assault

A 38-year old Aspen Hill man has been charged with second-degree rape and second-degree assault in the sexual assault of a woman on May 25.

Orlando Constantino Coffield, a resident of Postgate Terrace in Aspen Hill, was arrested on June 2 in Ocean City by Montgomery County police officers and is currently being held without bond.

On May 26, the victim reported to police that the previous day she was sexually assaulted by Coffield, a fellow resident of her apartment complex and someone whom she was acquainted with.

According to a police press release, Coffield sexually assaulted the victim while she was in his apartment, following an invitation into his residence.

After the victim reported the assault to police, the Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) began an investigation.

Investigators are now concerned that there could potentially be more victims of Coffield.

“Anyone who believes that he/she was a victim or has any information about a victim is urged to call the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5050,” stated police.
